What are the benefits of using granite for headstones?

It’s no surprise that granite is such a popular choice for headstones:

Granite is incredibly durable and can withstand harsh weather conditions

What is the difference between a headstone and a marker?

A marker is usually a wooden cross or stick with a name or grave number on it, which is placed at the site of a grave after burial. After about a year, when the ground has settled, a headstone or kerb set can be installed on the grave. These will be made from stone, are decorative and are a more permanent fixture to commemorate your loved one.

Can a bespoke memorial go over two graves?

Yes, this is possible but will depend on the regulations at your cemetery. We will be able to check this and advise further when we do your quotation. All memorials need to have an approved permit from the cemetery before we begin to manufacture them.

I thought i had already written a review but I obviously forgot. I am so so happy with my parents headstone that, even now, 18 months later, I still can't believe how lovely it is and how well made it is. We wanted to do our parents proud after my mum passed - and I believe we did.
Memorials of distinction are a wonderful company. From start to finish it was a seamless, easy, pleasant transaction. We were kept in the loop at all times regarding delivery, wording and design and installation. On the day it was installed i rushed down to have a look and just burst into tears. It really is a fantastic headstone that was so well made.
I would HIGHLY recommend this company. I was a bit nervous because we did everything on the phone and online but I wasnt disappointed at all.
Im sorry its so late but I just wanted to say thank you for everything. Your professionalism and your attention to detail and the standard of your work is one that you should be very proud of.

Could not be happier with the finished product of my mother memorial. Quality of polished granite, precision work in executing the detail of design -all perfect. Memorials of Distinction always patient and willing to accommodate a grieving families often disparate views on design. Took on liaison with the designated Cemetry for installation to relieve any further burden; gave us a timeline for sourcing the granite, production and fitting and met that timeline. And a good price for all inclusive. Memorials of Distinction have a satellite North London office where samples can be viewed and instruction agreed. A very very happy experience when it really mattered.

I can only echo the many other reviews... Memorials of Distinction are a pleasure to deal with.. nothing was too much trouble, they listen & they take real care. My request was for 2 stones, both customised (headstones reversed on one, plinths reversed on the other, different logos etc). And a really wonderful result.. thank you !
