Memorials of Distinction have over 35 years’ experience in stonemasonry and serving the county of Bedfordshire, including Dunstable. Our expert team will craft the perfect memorial gravestones for your loved ones, whether it be a full kerbed memorial, cremation plaque or a bespoke headstone. We have a wide range of products available to ensure you have exactly the right tribute.
There’s a lot to think about when planning a burial or cremation, but a good first step forward is choosing the location, then everything else can stem from that. This is because many cemeteries and crematoriums have rules about which bespoke gravestones, traditional headstones or memorial statues are permitted. Once you’ve found the special location for a final resting place, then we can support you as you choose a fitting tribute.
The historic county of Bedfordshire is easily accessible for friends and family to visit and offers so much, from pretty riverside villages to beautiful countryside, and all just a short journey away from London.
You’d be forgiven for thinking all cemeteries are the same until you get researching. The location you choose within Bedfordshire will depend on so many things — whether your loved one wanted a specific spot, whether the location is easily accessible by car, and whether you’re looking for a religious or non-religious ceremony. Perhaps you’d like a location near to the river in the town of Bedford, or you might want a more rural location, like the pretty, riverside market town of Sandy.
To simplify things for you, we’ve put information on each crematorium and cemetery from Google Maps into the interactive map below so you can find what you need quickly and easily. Just hover over each pin to see more information.
Our standard terms for payment are as follows:
20% Deposit when memorial ordered as above.
75% of balance plus burial ground fee payable when permit received from cemetery or church authority. Obtaining permit takes on average 2-3 weeks from first installment.
Final balance payable on completion (ie. when memorial is in place, approximately 12 weeks after receipt of second installment).
Yes, we can put a small graveside surround called ‘Garden Kerbs’ around any headstone, providing the cemetery gives permission. We will be able to advise you on this and apply for a permit on your behalf.
Most of our memorial designs can be manufactured in a different colour/material to the one shown. See our Materials & Finishes page for more information on what is available. There may be some restrictions placed on your choice of material by the cemetery or churchyard. We will be able to advise you about that once you tell us where your loved one is to be interred. The price for memorials made from non-standard material will vary from the ones shown on our website so please contact us for a quote.
Everyone at Memorials of Distinction have been so professional, caring and excellent from start to finish with providing me a wonderful memorial to my dad. I would happily recommend Memorials of Distinction to anyone and so very pleased I chose them. They so deserve the 5 star rating.

Absolutely outstanding service from start to finish. I am so glad I found this company! Every single person I have been in contact with has been so kind, understanding and there to cater to my needs. My sons headstone and kerb is fabulous and much more than I could have dreamed of. They dealt with me with compassion and talked me through every step of the process.
