The photograph you choose should be clear and preferably of a high print quality. We can remove backgrounds and other people from the photo if necessary. Try to choose a photo which is not blurred or damaged in any way.
Consider whether the photo would best suit a landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical) photo plaque. In some cases your choice is restricted by the size/shape of your stone and the quantity of inscription text, if you are unsure please contact our staff and they will advise you.
You can provide us with the photo in one of three ways (in order of preference):
1. Email a digital photo from your camera or phone
This is the best way to send us high quality images. If you are emailing a photo that you have taken on your camera or phone, please send it to us as an ‘attachment’ rather than placed into the body of your email message. Some email software will ask if you want to reduce or optimise the size of the photo before you send it, please select ‘original size’ as the bigger the file size, the higher the quality of the image.
You can email your photo to: sales@memorialsofdistinction.co.uk
Note: Photos should be a minimum of 300dpi and larger than 1MB in file size.
2. Email a scanned photograph
If you only have a printed photo but have access to a scanner (most printers have this functionality) then please scan it using the following settings: Minimum 300dpi, 24bit Colour.
You can then email it to us at: sales@memorialsofdistinction.co.uk
Note: Using your phone to photograph a physical photo rarely results in a good quality image so scanning is preferable.
3. Post your original printed photo
If you are unable to scan your printed photo, you will need to send us the original by post. In this case, we strongly urge you to make a copy of the photo beforehand. Whilst we will do our very best to return your photos to you, there are rare occasions when they get
damaged or lost in the production process and this can be very distressing if it is your only copy.
Please post your photo(s) to:

Most of our memorials will be able to fit a photo plaque but this very much depends on two things: 1) the size of memorial you have chosen and 2) the quantity of inscription text you wish to add. We will be able to advise on this before you place your order and if necessary show you a mock-up to confirm the fit. As a guide, the standard photo plaque is an 10cm x 8cm oval.
If the particular shape or style of memorial you would like is not in our standard collection, we will be happy to work with you to create something bespoke. Whether it is just swapping one type of vase or grave statue for another or creating a whole new design, we have the expertise to guide you through it. Call or email us to discuss in more detail or use our Live Chat feature on the bottom right of your screen.
